Onboarding for suppliers.
Welcome to the orca onboarding.
Find your orca processes here:
Your preparation for all processes.
Establish accountability.
For all processes you need a tool coordinator:
Tool coordinator - controls and manages the entire inventory and the supplier's declaration of readiness for acceptance
Consider who in your company can best take over. It would make sense to have someone who has the complete overview or access to all relevant information about the tools concerned.
Register Tool Coordinator.
Once you have named your tool coordinator, please create it as such via BMW B2B. This can be done by your BMW B2B master administrator. The required role can be found in the BMW B2B Portal under Administration > B2B Role Assignment > Purchasing > MyTools.
Instructions for master administrators can be found here.
Note: You can find the master/administrator responsible for you in the B2B portal using the 'Administrator search' function in the 'Help' menu or directly on the start page in the B2B portal under 'Quicklinks'.
IMPORTANT: The tool coordinator must then log in to orca once so that registration is complete and inventory orders can be sent. This is then displayed in orca under Company > Users with the user groups IVL, ITL.
Everything prepared?
As soon as you have named and registered your tool coordinator, you can start with the processes. Information on this can be found above under the buttons "Inventory" and "Supplier's declaration of readiness for acceptance (ABL)".
Note: Processes require photos to be uploaded with geo-information and other metadata. Apple products often do not have these enabled from the start. Please ensure that the following options are set on the capture device:
- Navigate to "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Location Services" and make sure that location services are activated.
- Scroll down to the desired app and select "Camera - when using".
- Open "Settings" > "Camera" > "Formats" - take out "High Efficiency" (HEIC) and set "Maximum Compatibility" (JPG).
Take the pictures on the device via the camera app. Click on the "+" symbol in orca, select "Photo library" (not "Take photo or video") and upload the pictures.
It is important that the photos are first stored in the media library and then uploaded here, as this is the only way to transfer the geodata to orca.
