The declaration of readiness for acceptance as the start of the production equipment life cycle
on orca.

Vendor toolings are manufacturing tools in the part supplier´s posession, but typically owned by the manufacturer of the final product (in the automotive industry, the OEM). They are manufactured specifically for the production of model-specific parts and are generally paid for in a single payment.
The supplier initiates the acceptance and payment process at the OEM with the supplier's declaration of readiness for acceptance (ABL).
To this end, the supplier provides the ABL with precisely the documents and information (such as photos, analyzable geo-coordinates, operating companies and locations, dimensions, etc.) that enable legally compliant acceptance.
-
The supplier's declaration of readiness for acceptance is initiated and completed by the supplier.
Submitted declarations go through the automated verification process at the OEM.
Acceptance of the declaration fulfills an acceptance requirement.
You can find detailed information on how to do this in the instructions.
-
The following roles are essential for the ABL:
Tool coordinator on the supplier side - controls and manages the entire ABL, individual tasks can be sub-distributed.
Specialist purchaser (FEK) on the client side, checks and approves special cases (e.g. unrecognized inventory totals)
ABL
The supplier's declaration of readiness for acceptance (ABL) is a prerequisite for the tested and secured acceptance of the production equipment by the customer.
Evidence, validated photos and documentation minimize compliance risk and form the basis for subsequent inventory management processes (e.g. relocations).
-
The BMW Group uses orca for the declaration of readiness for acceptance by the suppliers of SBM purchased parts. This replaces the RMT or e-ordering process for supplier confirmation.

I am a supplier and would like to know how the ABL process works at the BMW Group?
