Tips & tricks for internal organisation:

  • There are several ways to carry out the inventory process.

  • As a tool coordinator, I can carry out and report an inventory order completely on my own. However, there are scenarios in which it can make sense to distribute the tasks.

  • This depends on the quantity and scope of the inventory orders and also how many locations the orders affect.

  • For larger inventory orders at a location, it may make sense to delegate the task of inventory (physical location check and photos). For this purpose, it would help to create inventory bookkeepers and delegate the task to them.

  • However, if there are many and possibly very large inventory orders, where production equipment may also be at different locations (e.g. due to relocation), it may make sense to introduce the level of the tool manager between the tool coordinator and the inventory manager. For example, one tool manager could be introduced for each location.

  • The above examples should only serve as a guide. The decision whether and how to divide the tasks should be made by each tool coordinator himself, as only he can assess what makes sense in his company.
